Cold As Ice
Brrrr. Biting cold outside—this is one of those January garden moments when a gardener’s best place is inside.
Even the fountain outside the living room windows is starting to freeze over. It runs all year, and days like this test its fortitude, With no warmer weather expected for at least a week, I suspect the ice will build upward into a more dramatic shape. Stay tuned.
But for now, it makes a nice ledge for birds to get a drink. And even in winter, the wildlife doesn’t seem to mind an ice-cold one. But I’ll remain indoors, content to watch it unfold.
